Ideally situated on the aquamarine seafront of Zanzibar’s ancient Stone Town, and flanked by an exotic mélange of sultan’s palaces, Portuguese forts, dhow harbors and markets, the Zanzibar Serena Inn is a haven of tranquility and opulence amongst the bustle of Zanzibar. Faithfully restored and embellished with a collection of antique clocks, crystal chandeliers, fretwork screens, carved staircases, Persian rugs and brass-studded doors, the interior design concept is a fusion of authenticity and luxury.

Day 2  Sun, Jan 24                                                                                Breakfast / Lunch
Historic Stone Town

After breakfast join us on a leisurely guided tour the ancient city. Stone Town is the old city and cultural heart of Zanzibar, with little having changed in the last 200 years. It is a place of winding alleys, bustling bazaars, mosques and grand Arab houses whose original owners vied with each other over the extravagance of their dwellings. This one-upmanship is particularly reflected in the

brass-studded, carved, wooden doors - there are more than 500 different examples of this handiwork. You could spend many idle hours, even days, just wandering through Stone Town’s fascinating labyrinth of narrow streets and alleyways.

Days 3  Mon, Jan 25                                                                              Breakfast / Lunch
Spice Tour

The history of Zanzibar would be incomplete without the cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, pepper and many other spices. Today you will visit plantations just outside Zanzibar town, where you will be amazed by the sheer number of spices produced and their incredible value for many ailments. This will be your opportunity to experience and purchase spices and spice oils.
